Description
Human Dental Pulp Stem Cells ( hDPSCs )
hDPSCs Product Description
Human Dental Pulp Stem Cells ( hDPSCs ) are mesenchymal stem cells derived from extracted teeth, including third molars or orthodontically indicated teeth. DPSCs possess exceptional regenerative potential, making them a preferred choice over bone marrow or adipose-derived stem cells for dental and periodontal research.
These cells offer minimally invasive harvesting, high proliferative capacity, strong osteogenic differentiation, resistance to inflammation-induced senescence, and low immunogenicity. hDPSCs actively modulate the immune microenvironment, influencing T cells, B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and neutrophils, which supports restoration of periodontal tissue balance and regeneration.
hDPSCs express canonical mesenchymal markers CD73, CD90, CD105, Nestin, CD44, CD109, Nanog, Sox2, SSEA4, and CD166, while lacking hematopoietic and immune lineage markers such as CD19, CD34, CD45, CD11b, and HLA-DR. Osteogenic gene expression is robust, including ALP, RUNX2, BMP2, OPN, and OSX, demonstrating their potential for bone and dental tissue engineering.
The Celprogen hDPSCs product is available in multiple formats for research flexibility:
-
Frozen Vials shipped with dry ice (Cat#36086-01)
-
T25, T75, T150, T225 Plated Cells shipped at room temperature
hDPSCs can be cultured for up to 120 population doublings (≈12 passages) and require Celprogen-specific media and extracellular matrix (Cat# M36086-01 & E36086-01) for guaranteed viability and optimal performance.
These cells have been extensively utilized in biocompatibility and cytotoxicity studies, including:
-
Testing lactose-modified chitosan-based gels for dental scaffolding
-
Evaluating cytotoxic effects of orally dissolving probiotic tablets on oral cells
-
Comparing restorative dental materials’ cytotoxicity, with alkasite materials showing higher cytotoxicity
hDPSCs are ideal for dental material research, regenerative dentistry, tissue engineering, and in vitro modeling of oral diseases. For non-academic applications, please consult Celprogen for pricing and product access.
